"Self-Directed Distance Learning Program"

While only limited numbers of health care personnel can leave their jobs to attend training courses in logistics around the world, most have access to computers. To capitalize on the learning opportunity computers provide, the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT is developing interactive CD-based training in basic logistics theory using Articulate™ software.

Working with an outside vendor, JSI staff with experience in paper-based instructional design are now learning a whole new way to create and deliver logistics training. Different from classroom-based training, CD-based or online learning is self-paced and "chunked" into short activities that keep the learner engaged using any combination of audio, text, graphics, interaction, and animation. After learning this new technology, project staff will be able to offer this new technique for training delivery to their in-country clients, customizing the content for specific programs for logistics staff.
