JSI recognizes that the assessment and treatment of older adults play a critical role in the performance of the health care delivery system. Health care delivery and financing systems face unprecedented challenges in meeting the increasing demands of aging baby boomers. JSI responds to this challenge with research, training, technical assistance, and consumer education. JSI performs cutting-edge research, designed to improve the performance of health care delivery systems that serve older adults. We provide technical assistance to build the capacities of local delivery systems and to conduct in-person trainings and distance learning seminars intended to enhance the skills of professionals who work with older adults. We also design consumer friendly web and print materials to encourage older adults to engage in healthy behaviors and to better manage their own health care.
