Mental Health and Substance Abuse

JSI recognizes the significant impact of substance abuse on the health status of individuals and communities. We conduct research, provide training and technical assistance, and identify best practices related to the abuse of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs. JSI has particular expertise in outcomes research for both substance abuse treatment and prevention. JSI is also a leader in the areas of tobacco control, cessation, and prevention, focusing on development of educational materials and information dissemination. We work with many populations including youth, the elderly, and people with multiple diagnoses, and across all racial and cultural groups. Our work examines substance abuse patterns in a variety of settings, including communities, the workplace and recreational activities.
