Research, Monitoring and Evaluation
Much of JSI’s work focuses on evaluation research to provide valid, reliable and relevant evidence for improving public health programs. JSI collects data that enables stakeholders to plan programs, track performance indicators, identify program strengths and weaknesses, determine if strategies need adjustment, advocate for appropriate resource allocations, and advance public health policies.

We are committed to involving and strengthening the communities in which we work. We conduct training courses to build the capacity of those who need to collect and interpret evaluation data in order to make informed decisions. We work closely with federal, state and local agencies in the U.S. and with international donor agencies and ministries of health to strengthen their ability to implement monitoring and evaluation systems that enable sustained delivery of high-quality services.

Read Evaluation Matters (pdf) to learn about how JSI's Women and Infant Health (WIN) Project in Russia effectively used monitoring and evaluation data to demonstrate the success of WIN's evidence-based, client-friendly model for women's health services.
