APHA Annual Meeting & Exposition

JSI staff delivered more than 30 presentations on both domestic U.S. and international public health issues at the 137th American Public Health Association Conference, held in Philadelphia, PA in November 2009. A full list of presentation topics can be found through the link below. JSI also hosted an information booth throughout the meeting.

The theme of the APHA Annual Meeting & Exposition was Water and Public Health. Worldwide, over one billion people lack access to safe drinking water. The conference explored the challenges of meeting the global demand for safe and clean drinking water, protecting the natural resources to meet this demand, and the public health ramifications of contaminated water, sanitation, and deteriorating infrastructures.
